  4. Spiceline
  5. ---------

  7. Spiceline has been designed for reading and processing the data-files
  8. produced by Spice(*).
  9.  
  10. All data-rows included in the lists can be selected individually. These
  11. selected data can be combined to a complete diagram in which the
  12. individual data-curves can be put either in one big diagram or in several
  13. smaller diagrams each one below another.
  14.  
  15. Of course there's a zoom you can control either by hand or by mouse. Most
  16. of the elements of the diagram can by aktivated/deactivated and/or varied
  17. in their size in steps of 1/1000 inch.
  18.  
  19. When ever you're satisfied with the diagram you see on your screen, you
  20. can save it as an IMG-graphics-file in a freely choosable size as well as
  21. freely choosable resolution. This will give you full control over the
  22. diagrams quality.

  24. Spiceline has been programmed for all of you who want to work with SPICE
  25. but don't want to draw the diagrams out of the data-lists by hand.
  26. I think, this means most of you!
  27. Spiceline will offer great help for professionell Users as well as for
  28. people who work with SPICE just for fun or for improving their knowledge.

  30. The simple usage of Spiceline will guarantee even newcomers in SPICE to get
  31. best and fastest results out of their simulations. Of cours Spiceline is a
  32. complete GEM-apllication which means that it works on every TOS-version
  33. (probably also all coming version) and is _really_ easy to use.

  35. Of course working with Spiceline does not afford any special Hardware.
  36. It runs:
  37.  
  38. -  on an old 520ST as well as on a TT030 or even a FALCON030
  39. -  from floppy-disk or hard-disk
  40. -  on all screens that have at least 640x400 dots in monochrome or color
  41.    and on every graphic-card
  42.  
  43. The programming has been done in a memory-saving manner. It takes only that
  44. part of the RAM, that it really needs. If your ATARI is a TT030 and does
  45. have FAST-RAM, then Spiceline will prefer this type of memory.

  47. This behaviour and the window-handling are the best steps towards working
  48. with MultiTOS or MultiGEM. Even on a singletask-TOS you can work on several
  49. diagrams at the same time. Inside Spiceline you can work on as many windows
  50. as the system will offer you (in combination with WINX it could be up to 40
  51. windows) and each window can contain a diagram.

  53. Spiceline can process the following data-lists:

  55. -  DC-analysis
  56. -  AC-small-signal-analysis
  57. -  transient analysis
  58. -  Fourier analysis
  59.  
  60. Finally, you can use Spiceline as a SPICE-shell. This means you can call
  61. SPICE out of Spiceline for simulating a circuit-description and then turn
  62. back to Spiceline, where you process the data-lists, without having to
  63. leave and reenter Spiceline manually.

  67. ---------
  68. SPICE is a circuit simulation program for different types of analysis.
  69. This means nonlinear  dc, nonlinear transient, linear ac analyses and
  70. fourier analysis. Spice simulates with very high reliability and precision.
  71. It was developed at the University of California, Berkeley, Ca.
  72. and during the last last years, it was transferred to the computers of the
  73. ATARI-ST-family.
  74. It's only disadvantage is the fact, that it only creates lists of the
  75. calculated results - the data-lists.
  76. For any kind of useful analysis or documentation of these tables you have
  77. to build diagrams out of the data and this was the reason for the
  78. programming of Spiceline.

  81. Demoversion
  82. -----------
  83. The demoversion has no limitations within its functions compared to the
  84. full version except that it can't read the output-files of SPICE.
  85. For this reason, we have included some files with the ending 'SPL', which
  86. are already processed data-files, we have saved in the Spiceline-format.
  87. These files you can load into Spiceline and process into diagrams however
  88. you wish to do. The INFILES and OUTFILES are included in te LZH-archive
  89. 'SOURCES.LZH' that can be extracted if you want.

  124. Spiceline, we don't have an english manual. At this moment there are two
  125. possible versions of Spiceline:
